It is not a cheap "wallhanger". This blade has unbelievably intricate and beautiful patterns from forging and tempering (similar to Damascus steel, but in repeating swirls). If you know anything about blades, this is one of the most amazing blades you'll ever see. Blade seems to have some age but I can't begin to guess how much. The study of such blades is a hige study and I am only a beginner ~ but I do know fine BLADES. Mounts also seem to have some age and are exquisitely fashioned of brass or bronze. Yhe lacquering and hand-painted designs are graceful and lovely. Originals sell (if you could find one available for purchase!)at astronomical prices. As a knifemaker and onetime swordmaker, I have never seen a blade that compares with this one. No, it's not an ancient original samurai weapon (and you're probably not Donald Trump, either!)It IS signed, as well. And it is a very high quality weapon at a very friendly price.
