Very collectible Fiala Model 1920 with three barrels, detachable buttstock, and original case. This pistol looks like an early Colt Woodsman. Blue finish and smooth walnut grips. Barrel lengths include 3, 7 ½ , and 20-inch all with rifling. The rear sight on the pistols slide is a folding elevator with circular aperture. Front sights on the 7 ½ and 20 inch barrels are blades dovetailed directly in. The short 3-inch barrel is knurled and has a rounded blade sight. Markings are crisp and include "Fiala Arms and Equipment Co. Inc./New Haven Conn./Patents Pending" on right side of frame behind the grip, and "MODEL 1920/Made in U.S.A." on the right side of the frame above the triggerguard. Left side of frame above the triggerguard is marked "FIALA ARMS" above the image of a polar bear with "TRADE MARK" below polar bear. Caliber stamp on the barrel. The 20 and 7 ½ inch barrels show a nice mix of original blue and gray/brown patina with some discoloration. Both the 3 and 7 ½ inch barrels show vise marks. The pistol frame and slide show strong original blue with wear in the handling areas and a few scratches above the polar bear stamp. The pistol grips rate good showing only modest dings and scratches. Both the buttstock and forend on the long barrel have a nice refinish with only very light handling. Includes the original black leatherette purple velvet lined case. The case rates fair-good with the top showing some scratches and the corners a bit torn out. The purple lining shows wear on the high spots and has one broken divider. Classified as a Curio & Relic.
