Martini Henry MKI/II .450/577 Guns > Rifles > Martini Rifles
Description: Not from Nepal. I have a Martini Henry rifle that was brought back from South Africa some years ago by the previous owner. This MH is an Enfield and is dated 1872 and was converted from a Mark I to a Mark II. It is a shooter and it is in good condition with normal wear and tear for a rifle of over 100+ years old (bumps and bangs on the stock). Rifling is strong, but dark. Metal is mostly blue/brown patina with silvery/blue on the barrel. There is a piece of wood missing form the buttstock near the top of the receiver, which was a very common thing for MHs. In addition, there are repairs to either side of the forestock, which you can see in the pictures. See early MK I buttplate. Cocking handle is tight, but trigger mechanism is a little loose, but my gunsmith didn't think much of it; it's just old. The firing pin struck home nicely, see picture. Missing rear sling swivel; I think I have an extra one lying around, just remind me if you want it. Inspection Period/Return Policy: Three Days from the date the item is received (cost for S/I paid by buyer). Notify me before you return it. Disclaimer: Although this rifle has been fired recently by my gunsmith, I recommend you have a qualified gunsmith inspect it. I only accept payment by USPS Money Order or Certified Check issued by your bank.
