This five digit Remington Rand was 1943-44 production. It appears to be an armory reparkerised weapon as it has a gray tinge to the parkerising. The proof is the correct FJA (not highlighted but sharp and clear) on the framejust below the slide release. The Remingtond Rand over Syracuse NT, USA is clear on the left side of the slide. On the right side of the frame is the usual UNITED STATES PROPERTY & 1911A1 US ARMY above the serial number. The barrel is a correct High Standard and the magazine matches the gun's color. There are small pitting on the left side and of the slide but the weapon is perfect. The mechanics are perfect as well. ICall this an aermory repark because the finish looks like it could have been applied over the pits. On the other hand with the pits in just one are of the slide it could have been shoved into a leather holster with blood on it. A few days like would have produced the same sort of pitting? Even this old warhorse is getting hard to find.
