This little guy is in 100% original untouched condition. The barrel finish is 98% (or better). The color case on the sides and top of the receiver are 100% but there is little case on the underside. The side-plates are engraved with gorgeous dogs (a pointer on the right and setter on the left). The wood has some handling dents that shouldn't be considered as unusual for a firearm that has been around since 1890. The butt-plate has a chip on the inside of the toe but the wood has not been damaged. All of the screws are very nice. I have no idea as to when it happened in this guns life but I'm guessing in rather recent years but before I bought it some numb-nuts lightly scratched the side of the right barrel at the breech and put a small dent aproximately 10" forward of the breech face close to the forend. These issues have been easy to over-look as overall the piece is quite extraordinary. As always, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
