***SALE PENDING***This could be a fowler but it looks more like a military musket. This is the longest English flintlock I have ever seen. It is 69 inches long overall with a 54 inch barrel. The barrel is 1-1/4" wide at the breech and octagon for the first 11 inches tapering to a round, 11/16" barrel. The barrel has uniform, fine, surface pitting being a little more pronounced on the muzzle end. The stock shows wood worm damage and is missing about the last 22 inches. The top leaf of the frizzen spring is missing. There are no visable proof marks or other markings although I have not taken it apart. It appears that there was a square plate inlayed into the top flat of the barrel at the breech which is now missing. There is a fine, detailed, brass, wrist plate. It is still an impressive looking, extremely rare musket and the low price reflects the restoration needed. Detailed photos available on request.
