Genuine Pre 45 German Army Walther 9mm P38 pistol. This particular pistol is a late war version (manufactured January-March 1945) that was manufactured by CVQ (Spreewerk). Spreewek was the 3rd manufacturer that was given approval my the German reich (eagle 88 stamp). Althought the official amount has never been confirmed, estimated production was 285,000 units. The manufacturers serial numbers match(#02172), which is always a huge postive in terms of identification, authenticity, and value. Other marking include a Waffenamt" or "WaA" which means "weapons office" acceptance stamp on the right side and jvd on the magazine ("Erstre Nordboehmische Metallwarenfabrik"-in Czechoslovakia). Also, I think it's important to note that this pistol has no import stamps! The lovely wartime finish is 98% plus and is housed inblack grips. A truly great piece, both in historical and monitary value. I purchased the item a few years back for $1,300 and will be sad to part with it but I'm sure it's next owner will treasure it. I will also include a Black Pelican 1400 pistol case (brand new) Free of charge. These run from $ 75.00 to $100.00.
