1913 vintage A grade, the first year of the new engraving pattern, and built when the attention to detail was at its peak. Even the internal mechanisms are highly polished. This has seen little use. It has no primer marks on the breech face and all finishes are factory original including the wood. The barrels are Fox’s heaviest #1 weight 30” Krupp steel barrels with 99% dark blue, choked F/F (.036/.036), mirror bores, no dents or rust, 2 5/8” chambers, extractors. The #1 weight barrels can be made into 3” chambered gun, as Fox did from the factory upon customer request. The receiver retains virtually all of its original vibrant factory Fox colors, some remnants of the factory applied shellac, engraving sharp enough to cut your fingers, exc. screws, double triggers, action tight as new with lever way right of center, barrels tight on hinge, a true bold 99%+ case colors. The wood is French walnut with nearly all of the original factory finish, ½ round pistol grip, perfect original checkering, splinter forend, 14 ¼” LOP, 2 ½” drop at heel, 1 ½” drop at comb, some handling marks on butt stock that are in the finish only (see pics), no cracks or splits, no wear from use, original buttplate, sn 20741. Gun weighs 7 ½ lbs. and is truly collector quality. I have not seen a Fox with this much condition in over 5 years. Great long range gun for ducks, pheasants, turkey, crows, pigeons.
