This S&W is really intriguing as the cylinder is chambered for the 44-40. It has a 5" barrel , and serial no. 2557 on the butt.Locks up good and functions very well. Has very sharp wood S&W grips with the diamond, and S&W medallion. The cylinder appears to be original nickle, and the frame/barrel etc. are all renickle! Also the cylinder has the one stop, and not two found on the DA first model. Cylinder doesn't look like it's been fooled with.Bore very good with minor frosting. Would make a good shooter, but with black powder or cowboy loads, not modern ammo.Has patent dates, 65, 69, 71,79,80. Cylinder is 1 9/16" long. Came from the Springfield, Mass. area!!

I am an estate dealer, and buy whole contents of homes, mostly gun smith's estates. Been doing this for 40 years. Never know what I'll find next.We look for the unusual, we don't buy new guns from wholesalers, and resell! !KEEP CHECKING MY INVENTORY. We don't do feedback this isn't EBAY! Thank you.
