Moore Manufactured for the US Government fewer than 2000 of these pattern Enfield muskets from 1861 through 1863. This one has a lockplate date of 1863 with a very strong Eagle motif with the M in the center of the shield. The rifle is in .58 caliber with a decent bore for its age, and is all original showing quite a bit of bluing left on the barrel, with the barrel bands being in the bright. The gun is missing the rear sight and the rear sling swivel, but has the original ramrod with the stock very solid and free of any cracks. You can find this rifle in Fladerman's.
