This Browning Auto Five Light Twelve comes to us from its home domicile in Perry County, Tennessee. From its NY date code in the serial number, manufacture date was 1992. Manufacturer, of course, was B.C. Miroku of Nankoku, Japan. Importer is Browning Arms, Arnold, Missouri. Construction is entirely steel metal, with cut checkered American Walnut stock and forend. Action, for any who may not know John Moses Browning and his inventions, is recoil operated semi-automatic. Chambering is for 2 3/4 inch shells only, with Browning’s brass and steel friction rings that are adjustable for light to heavy load shells. Barrel is 27 1/2 inches, nominally 28 inch, with standard Invector Choke System. Barrel is Not back bored, its tubes are the same thread and size as older Winchester Winchoke® and Mossberg Accu-Choke®. It comes just like we got it, with a factory .718 Improved Cylinder Invector Tube. Sight system is a 12 post .285 wide serrated top Ventilated Rib with stainless steel bead front sight. The rib sits .23 inch above the barrel at the forend cap. Magazine is white steel, Capacity is 4 + 1, or 2 + 1 with a plug or 3 shot adapter. Weight empty is 8 pounds 5 ounces, with the center of gravity under the bolt handle. Buttstock drop is the standard 1 1/2 inch at the comb, and 2 1/2 inches at the butt, with a 1 inch right hand cant. The Auto Five is not friendly to left handed shooters. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches from the smooth rounded face .275 trigger to the end of the factory butt plate. Note the Lightning style round knob pistol grip area. Finish is bright blue receiver, barrel, guard and screws, with white steel bolt and gold plated trigger. Walnut finish is classic glossy Browning. Surface detractions are moderate, principally scouring on the sides of the butt stock, hand contact whitening on the lower receiver, freckling on the lower tang, and a small chip off the buttplate at the buttstock’s point, as the photos show. We rate this Light Twelve as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, mechanism, magazine tube and springs are all bright and clean. From this shotgun’s condition and our knowledge of its late owner’s family, we estimate it was fired fewer than 4,000 rounds, no rounds at all for an Auto Five. Replacement pricing on current production Auto Fives is over $1500 in our area. We’re offering this Perry County 28 incher, however, for only $ 619.00. 2% off if payment is with USPS Money Order & Not Credit Card. Any ammunition or personnel showing in our photos are not included. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $60 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground or USPS Priority with full insurance coverage. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
