HG2951 Here is an attractive, serviceable and distinctive Smith & Wesson 357 Combat Magnum Stainless, numbered model 66, Second Engineering Change, that spent its entire career enforcing the law in South Louisiana. It came into service in 1984, from its 0900 range AET prefix serial, under the Administration of the Honorable Gordon J. Martin, who served as Sheriff of St. James Parish, and spent a total of 40 years serving and protecting the good citizens of that jurisdiction. Barrel is 4 inch Heavy Barrel variant, with red ramp front sight and conventional square base black blade windage and elevation adjustable rear sight. Capacity is 6 rounds of .357 Magnum or .38 Special, interchangeably with +P ammunition; type is traditional double and single action with transfer bar internal safety device; and construction is entirely stainless steel with Smith & Wesson K Frame Square Butt grip frame. Trigger and hammer are original Satin Stainless .312 smooth face combat service trigger with matching .375 semi-target serrated spur hammer. Grips are period correct SJSO issue Pachmayr SK-G Professionals. Grip frame is K Square Butt 10 Groove Serrated fore and aft. Weight empty is 38 ounces. Surface detractions on this model 66 are moderate. Finish shows moderate amounts of holster buffing to its surfaces, principally on the barrel sides and cylinder surface. Note that its grip frame backstrap serrations show a moderate amount of flattening. We rate this 66 as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. This Model 66 is Excellent mechanically. Bore, cylinder chambers, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Blast effect to the underside of the frame top strap directly above the barrel's forcing cone is only moderate, a shallow etchy groove that traverses the width of the top strap as the photos show. Cylinder face to forcing cone gap is a perfect .007. Double action trigger pull is smooth and consistent; hammer travels an exceptional 15 degrees on all six positions in double action after the cylinder times into place. On single action, the hammer travels an additional 30 to 35 degrees on all six after timing. The single action trigger pull is a crisp and original 4 1/2 pounds. Lateral play to the cylinder is negligible, about 1/2 mm by our estimate, both with the trigger relaxed and with it fully depressed. Forward movement of the open cylinder on the yoke is about 6 mm by our estimate. We're offering this attractive, serviceable and collectable authentic Arcadian Lawman Model 66-2 Stainless for only $429.00 Not transferable to civilians in California, District of Colombia, or Massachusetts.

We Buy, Sell, or Trade. Always have.
Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
