This is a nice Finnbear chambered in 30-'06, SN 81887 circa early 1973. The 24.5 inch barrel has 5 sharp lands and grooves, bright bore and it is a MOA or better shooter. The three lug bolt has been polished. The rifle shows honest minor wear from hunting and the bluing is extra sharp. The trigger is set at 2.5 pounds and snaps like ice. I stored this rifle upside down for the past 15 years or so and the pad is still in excellent condition. The finish and checkering are really nice for a gun that is 44 years old. These rifles were hand fitted and are the best rifle Sako ever produced. The scope mount ramps show very little wear, and interestingly it was imported without hard sights. There are no import marks on this rifle so it is possibly a GI bringback from Europe. I am asking $800 plus $30 UPS shipping including insurance. I have a perfect GB record of happy buyers and If you don't love this rifle just ship it back unfired for a instant cheerful refund(I have never had a rifle returned). Ships to FFL and certified funds only.
Added. I have had several questions in regard to this being a Pre Garcia Action in that it was sold after the Garcia era began. There is actually a certified 30-'06 SN 85025 sold on 10-12-73 hang tag from the old Sako Club archives which was the last one reported. All Garcia era 2 lug bolt SN's are 6 digit serial numbers. There were many 3 lug bolt Pre-Garcia actions sold during the transition to the Garcia era.
