Construction is steel barrel, bolt, magazine assembly, levers, internal parts, and sling studs, built into a light weight alloy receiver with polymer stock, forend, and trigger housing assembly. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Barrel is 18 inch plain, with .720 Improved Cylinder muzzle and chrome lined bore and chamber hood interior. Outside diameter is .834 at the muzzle. Sights are Welded steel front ramp with dual retainers for a high visibility red fiber optic insert, on the order of the Ithaca Ray-bar. Receiver is serrated top, with lateral recesses for optics clamps. Magazine tube is 15 inch overall length, with steel stud cap, and holds 5 rounds of 2 3/4 inch or 4 rounds of 3 inch shells, fully loaded capacity of 5 + 1 on 2 3/4 inch, 4 + 1 on 3 inch. Slide release lever is extended smooth faced steel. Trigger is .250 serrated face alloy, with push button safety for a right handed shooter. We assume the safety is not reversible for left handed shooters. Trigger pull on the photo specimen gauged at 7 pounds, with moderate felt creep and overtravel. Pump mechanism is double steel slide bars, with slotted steel shell carrier. Forend is semi beavertail black synthetic, with corn cob type serrations on its underside. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches from the trigger face to the end of the 3/4 inch recoil pad. Stock drop is standard 1 1/2 at comb and 2 1/2 inches at the heel with a 3/4 inch right hand cant, but each Aimguard comes with a total of 5 stock shims to alter cant and drop. Stock has molded checker surface laterals on the pistol grip, with semi monte carlo impress laterals on the buttstock proper. Weight empty is 6 pounds, 4.2 ounces, with center of gravity an inch behind the breech face. Barrel and receiver are well matched matte black, but with a semi gloss blued steel magazine assembly. Lettering is smooth, sharp, and uniform throughout, with maker and importer name in white inlay on the left forward side of the receiver. Each Aimguard shotgun comes in its factory box with instruction and safety manual, receiver protector, removable three shot adapter or plug, shim and replacement magazine follower, and factory registration card with five year warranty statement.
