From the estate of one of our fertilizer scientists comes this attractive respectable Colt Single Action Army in .38 WCF Caliber. This revolver’s number is 322000 range, so it was manufactured in President Wilson’s Election Year, 1912. Its late owner, a meticulous chemical engineer, got hold of it some time in the 1950s and it was parkerized. He had it bead blasted and it has been preserved spotless ever since them. Barrel top lettering and caliber lettering on the barrel side are weak but legible. Frame lettering and serial numbers are strong and sharp. We detect some moderate old surface pitting in forward sections of four of the cylinder flutes, and in three or four more places on the cylinder surfaces. Bore and cylinder chambers are bright, clean, and excellent as the photos show. Frame, trigger guard, and grip frame numbers all match. Barrel has the numeral 41 on its bottom rear section next to the frame. Loading gate number is three digits but does not match the revolver’s last three. We do not see a number on the rear face of the cylinder at all. Hammer, trigger and hand all appear to be original, and only the trigger appears to have been refinished out of those three parts. Grips are correct composite checkered factory Colt, probably 1950s replacement. This revolver is excellent mechanically. Cylinder times correctly in all six positions and there is only minimal play to the cylinder, both with the hammer back and at rest. There is about 30 percent flattening to the knurled end of the ejector rod. This is a very solid revolver, and its present matte gray finish approximates how some of its older siblings doubtless looked in gun metal gray. It is certainly operable. We’re offering it for only $ 1950.00. C&R Eligible, of course. 2% Discount if payment is with USPS Money Orders & not credit card.
