This is a rather scarce set of factory Goncalo grips manufactured some time in the late 1960s or early 1970s from the absence of a speedloader cut. The marketing strategy in S&W manufacturing these was to allow owners of Round Butt 22/32 Kit Guns, the Model 34, to equip their revolver with a set of target grips. This set is also very appropriate for 3 inch barreled Chiefs Specials with round butt, and they will convert any pre-1995 RB J frame to a square butt setup. This set's surface detractions are only moderate, confined mostly to the right panel, and wear consists of scouring on the upper and lower edges where the finish is somewhat dulled. We still rate these as Excellent, since 90 percent of their original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves.
