'squirrel gun'. With the exception of the trigger, which isn't presently working, it appears to be in working condition. The wooden stock above the trigger mechanism is wrapped with fine steel wire apparently to either prevent a crack or repair a crack in the stock. It hasn't been fired in over 100 years that I'm aware of. I inherited it from my Grandfather and it was his fathers (my Great Grand Father). It has: "Forearm Arms Co. Worchester, Mass Pat'd Feb 4, 1896", and a serial #4286 stamped on it. Nice antique shotgun from the 19th century and a great 'wall hanger' or with some care and work, a working shotgun.
