Description: A very scarce gun. Single barrel, took two loads, one on top of the other. Made by M. Holmes, Utica, Mich. C-1850. Forerunner of the Civil War Lindsay. Very few made, since they didn't work well. "Pecking Bird" hammers. Nice patch box. 29" half rd. half oct. barrel, nno pitting. About 40 cal.

Needs a little TLC--both hammer springs are weak and need to be re-tempered or replaced. Two wedge plates missing. Both side of forearm and breech area wood have old repairs that need to be redone.

A very scarce gun and fairly priced.
