Here is a very attractive specimen of the Paratrooper Variant of the Chinese type 56 infantry rifle chambered in 7.62x39 caliber, that we call the SKS. Manufacturer was Jianshe Arsenal in the People’s Republic of China, on Russian milling equipment and under Russian supervision. From its 8 prefix onto a 6 digit 100000 range serial number, it was manufactured in 1964, the Year of the Gulf of Tonkin Incident and Resolution, and the Viet Cong attack on Bien Hoa Air Base. Importer is KSI of Pomona, CA, so marked on the right side of the barrel alongside the Norinco, China North manufacturer of record. Type, of course, is gas operated semi-automatic rifle. Construction is milled blue steel barrel, receiver and parts; and Asian Hardwood stock. Barrel is paratrooper 16 1/2 inch, calibrated military rear sight and elevation adjustable front sight, with drift capability for windage – on the well hooded front sight. Bore is not chrome lined, and thus inherently more accurate than its mates that held the chrome. Bayonet and lug have been removed, stock is slotted for a short blade bayonet. Trigger group, magazine, bolt, cover, and receiver serial numbers are all matching. Stock cartouches match as well, so this rifle is entirely original. Surface detractions are minimal, occasional streaking on the stock and dark toning to the never blued bolt surface. We rate this type 56 as Excellent, 90 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. This rifle is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. This is a well made, well preserved, historic and collectable specimen whose production mates popped caps at our soldiers in Vietnam. We’re offering it for only $ 439.00. This rifle will be C&R Eligible as of January 1, 2014. Any C&Rs who want to do a January due date lay-away, there will be no extra charge. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $15 handguns lower 48; $40 handguns Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, USPS Priority Mail, insured with Delivery Confirmation. $20 long guns lower 48; $60 to AK, HI or PR. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
