HG5451 Here is the best ever Big Bore Compacts, the smallest variant that Smith & Wesson ever produced of its tried-and-true 4000 series pistols. This is the CS40, the Chief's Special chambered in .40 S&W Caliber. This is the traditional double action variant. Hammer is black anodized bobbed, and safety-decocker lever is right hand shooter only. The metal frame Smith & Wesson Double Action pistols, of course, have firing pin safety and magazine safety. Weight empty is less than 27 oz; barrel length is 3 inches; capacity is 7 + 1; slide thickness is a very thin 1.02 inches; height with magazine inserted is only 5 inches; and overall length is only 6 5/8 inches. The CS-40 was launched in 1998 and continued in production until 2006. We estimate that this specimen was manufactured in the final year of production, since its serial number prefix is EKY, and since surface detractions are negligible. Wear indications amount only to a very faint amount of sharp edge buffing and slide contact buffing on the barrel surface. We rate this pistol as Excellent, since no more than 5 to 10 percent of its surfaces are affected in our estimation. Photos, however, should suffice for interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. It is certainly excellent mechanically. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. We estimate this pistol has been fired fewer than 200 rounds. It comes in a current production blue factory box with instruction manual and California compliant red cable lock. Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges.
