STARR 1858 Double Action Army Revolver has “STARR Arms Co., New York” printed on left side of receiver. Printed on the right side of receiver is “STARR’s PATENT JAN 15 1856”. It has a 6” BBL, a 44 Cal 6 shot Double Action. Serial #15504 – all matching. The US Government only bought 23,000 of these STARR revolvers between 1859 – 1861, which is when these were produced. This is an original US Army Revolver. The receiver exhibits matted blue flaking 15% coverage. A case colored hammer and trigger 40%. Bore is excellent. Barrel is browning, grips are excellent showing one mar in the left side just above cartouche. Cartouches are shown in both sides of the grips.
