Armscor of the Philippines launched its business the same year that our proprietor personally laid the blocks for our building, 1952; but it was a little over a decade before we began carrying their products. Since the earliest Armscor .22 rifles, to their long produced .22 Magnum ammo marketed by Fiocchi, we have had positive experience with Armscor products, and that is especially true with their Rock Island Armory series of Government 1911 style pistols. This offering shows the first of their Compacts, the 1911A1 Compact, that we received, and it is a solid, slick pistol throughout. We refer to these as Officer Size, following Colt, who followed Detonics, and introduced a similar compact about 15 years ago. Barrel is Detonics styling, bull nose heavy barrel with built in bushing and full length guide rod. The barrel and guide rod configuration, with double coil springs, enables the pistol to function correctly with a short barrel; but as we learned with the early Detonics Combat Masters, this configuration produces more accuracy that conventional 1911 type pistols. Magazine furnished is a Novak steel body 7 rounder, and any Colt Officer size magazine will fit. In fact, any 1911 magazine will fit with some protrusion. Custom grade equipment includes Beavertail Grip Safety, Skeleton Commander style hammer, serrated metal trigger, extended serrated magazine release, widened and beveled ejector port. Grips are nicely grained Filipino hardwood. Weight is 32 1/2 ounces empty. Finish is durable parkerized. Sights are low profile conventional drift rear and stake-on front. This pistol has the exact same grip frame size as the Colt Officer's ACP, so there are many grips available. This one's catalog number is 54183, however, and it is less expensive than the bright blue, and most of us prefer the parkerized anyway since it is moisture resistant. Own one of these fine pistols, the one in the photo or one of its identical mates, for only $ 439.00

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
