Parker DH 16 Gauge - "O" FRAME, 95% FACTORY COLOR, GORGEOUS!
There are some guns that just seem special, and a Parker 16ga. on an "O" frame (20ga. frame) is just such a gun. More than a 1/2 pound lighter than a typical Parker 16ga, the "0" frame 16 is highly sought after by today's upland hunter. They are not common, and to find one on the nicely decorated DH Grade format is a treat. This Parker DH, sn140136 made in 1906, is stunning with 99% damascus pattern and 95% factory case colors. The serialization book show it is configured just as it left the factory. They only made 458 damascus DH 16ga. guns, with another 1178 with Titanic steel barrels. There were likely less than a few hundred D Grades total on an "O" frame. There can only be a handful to be found with damascus barrels. At 6lbs. 2oz. it is a delightful gun with luxuriously figured wood, perfect mechanics, and nice shooting dimensions. This unsual combination of features makes it a very desirable Parker that will be a joy to carry afield or to your favorite clays course. It will certainly gain value as you enjoy its use.
The 26" damascus barrels with 99% fine damascus pattern appear to be factory original, not restored. Would make sense with 95% original case color. Bores are excellent, choked cylinder/full (.001/.029, can change left choke for $100), bore diameter of .665 right, .667 left, minimum barrel wall thickness 21 thou right, 20 thou left, 2 9/16" chambers, ribs are tight, lettering clear and sharp, no dents or dings, extractors, double ivory beads, barrels tight on breech face and hinge pin like a new gun. You just have to love a set of perfect damascus barrels!
The "O" frame (20ga.) action retains 95% FACTORY CASE COLOR, engraving sharp with exceptional detail, excellent screws, action tight with lever right of center, crisp double triggers break at 2.75lbs. front, 4lbs. rear, trigger guard retains 95% blue and clear sharp engraving, action was stripped, inspected, cleaned, and properly lubed while wood was being restored. All mechanically excellent with another 100 years ahead of her.
The wood has exceptional figure for a DH Grade, newly restored with a perfect oil finish, checkering properly recut in Parker fashion, no cracks or repairs, 14 3/4" LOP to skeleton butt plate, 2 3/8" drop at heel, 1 7/16" drop at comb, excellent wood to metal fit, a stunningly good looking stock befitting this Parker. Made for a tall guy, but can be altered to your specs for an additional fee. EXCEPTIONAL MODERN DIMENSIONS.
There is a strong demand for Parker guns with damascus barrels in excellent condition. Healthy damascus barrels are eminently safe to shoot and simply beautiful to look at. Go to for excellent low pressure clays and hunting loads! Finding a DH Grade 16 on an "O" frame with damascus barrels in this condition is a once in a decade opportunity. DON'T LET THIS ONE GET AWAY!
