Whitworth Rifle chambered in .308 Winchester Caliber. From its B273000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in the late 1980s. It comes to us from the collection of its principal owner, one of our local West Tennessee NRA officials. Manufacturer is Crvena Zastava of Krajugevac, Serbia, in the former Yugoslavia. Construction is entirely milled blue steel, including the trigger group, with white steel bolt. Caliber is .308 Winchester. Barrel is 24 inch with 1:12 four groove right hand twist, like the currently produced Zastava M70. Buttstock is cut checkered dark finished hardwood with 13 7/8 inch length of pull from the serrated face of the blue steel trigger to the end of the factory Interarms buttplate. Trigger pull gauges at the original heavy but crisp 4 1/2 pounds. Safety is receiver mounted serrated slider. Barrel is drilled for iron sights, but note that it already has its Weaver 55 rear and 20-A front scope mount bases in place. Surface detractions on this specimen are only moderate, principally a dozen or so small to moderate scours on the stock. Metal wear is minimal, only muzzle edge whitening and bolt handle knob whitening from gun case contact. We rate this Interarms Whitworth as Very Good, close to Excellent, 80 to 85 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. This rifle is excellent mechanically; bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent.
