You are bidding on a 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine, ser number 137472 in 45-70. I am not going to place an overall condition on the item due to I do not deal in these very often. The wood is dark and has one faint cartouch behind the trigger tang. The wood also has a few old nicks and several dings. There is one crack between the rear of the receiver and the saddle ring mounting screw. The bore is mostly dark and pitted with a faint showing of rifling. The butt plate has what appears to be a ram rod or cleaning kit latch. The saddle ring is present. The rear sight is a C marked sight and is missing the flat spring that holds it secure between the sight ears. The pictures show some tiny white specks on some of the wood and metal. It appears that sometime during it's life it got to close to a paint brush. I have put CLP on the metal and have not tried to clean or remove anything. If you have any questions please email or call. Thank you for your interest and bid.
