Here is a very attractive specimen of Glock’s Service Pistol chambered in .40 S&W, the Model 22. Manufacturer is Glock, Inc., of Smyrna, Georgia. Type is striker fired, locked breech, full time double action semi automatic pistol. Construction is injection molded Polymer 2® frame with steel inserts for slide cycling, barrel camming, and mechanism. Slide and barrel are milled Tennifer treated steel with Rockwell 64 grade hardness, 99 percent resistant to weather and body related corrosive forces. As far as specs, weight empty on the Glock Model 22 is only 25 1/2 ounces with center of gravity at the magazine release. Barrel is 4.49 inches with German style 1: 9.84 hexagonal bore that ensures consistent accuracy with diminished fouling. Sight system is factory Trijicon luminous 3 dot Night Sights, made for Glock by Trijicon. Frame is rail type with stippled surface lateral panel areas, checkered serration back strap, and finger grooved, checkered serration front strap. Safety system is Glock’s distinctive center trigger lever in addition to a firing pin safety. Caliber is .40 S&W. This pistol comes with one department issue factory 15 round magazine. This pistol’s LCR serial number prefix dates its manufacture to early 2007, under Chief John Suslak. It is in its original box with instruction manual. Four of its mates had fired brass envelopes dated July of 2007. Surface detractions are minimal to moderate, principally faint amounts of holster whitening on the slide and streaks on the right side of the grip frame. We rate it as Very Good, close to Excellent, 85 percent vicinity by our estimate.
