This pistol, like all M&Ps, is full time double action, striker fire action, with a very consistent 6.5 pound trigger pull that only travels .300 inches from rest to fire and resets in only .14 inches. Frame is Dark Earth Zytel Polymer, and barrel and slide are Black Melonite finished stainless. The frame, as the photos show, incorporates a Picatinny Weaver type rail for light and laser mounting and ambidextrous safety levers. Sights are rapid resolution 3 dot. Each MP-45 comes with three different backstrap inserts to allow maximum control and adaptability to individual shooters. M&P series has a fully ambidextrous magazine release setup; it is as easy to switch sides on it as a Beretta 92. The M&P series takes all comers for ease of handling, positive feel, and reliability and consistency under the most adverse field and combat situations.
