Description: MERKEL Model 140-2.1 SIDE x SIDE SAFARI RIFLE ... 500 Nitro Express caliber ... 23.6" barrel ... automatic ejectors ... Anson & Deely boxlock action ... Greener cross bolt with double under-barrel locking lugs ... double triggers ... flip up rear sights ... ramp front sights ... Merkel recoil pad ... sling swivels. Master Engraver 'Silke Henke' did a beautiful job engraving this silver-greyed receiver. Beautiful African trees serve as the background for a bull elephant on the left and a water buffalo on the right. Intricate scroll designs cover the bottom of the receiver, the trigger guard and the forend latching hardware. A very dark colored European walnut with rtippling grain was selected for the Monte Carlo pistol grip stock and forearm. Merkel's usual high quality checkering is evident on both. This gun retails for over $14,000 and dealer cost is over $11,200. This is an obvious value at this price. Please call with any questions.
