Japanese Arisak type 38 rifle with the mum removed and the Chinese military characters stamped on the receiver. A 31.5" barrel with a bore that has strong rifling with typical corrosion down in the grooves on this 8mm Mauser long rifle.Stock has typical war time dings, and scrapes, but nothing unusual. The metal is mostly blue some fine pits under the muzzle, and an importers marking. !Action works good.Wood is a two piece stock from earlier issued guns. Medal butt-plate has some pitting and the bolt has a different number than the frame!This gun was chambered for the 8mm Mauser possibly by Chang Kai Shek forces, to fight the reds after the war!Also has the scarce dust cover.
