Here is a trade we received from one of our Indiana retired law enforcement immigrants, a genuine Kentucky State Police contract 870 Police Remington 870 Magnum. Date Code is WW, August 2002. First, this is a Special Purpose grade 870, not an Express. Named Model is 870 Parkerized Police, and the product code is 24921, definitely not a standard civilian catalogued item. Special order Kentucky State Police sticker is still on the box. This shotgun has been loaded and fired fewer than 50 times, attest the faint brass streaking on its shell carrier / floorplate. Bore and chamber are bright, clean, and excellent. As the photos show, frame contact streaking to the slide bars is minimal to negligible. This shotgun is in its original issue box. We have taken the liberty of installing a Pachmayr Tac Star 7 shot extension tube and swivel clamp, both brand new. No modification to the magazine tube was necessary because the 870 Police barrel lugs still have the detent ball on them. We have the original spring, spring retainer, and magazine cap. Forend is high impact synthetic, classic police Corncob serrated/ and the buttstock is Special Order Factory Remington Davis Speed-feed that will hold more shells, as the photos show. Barrel is 18 inch Improved Cylinder with post front sight to match the Ghost Ring military style rear sight, mounted on the receiver. Standard capacity is 5 rounds of 2 3/4 inch shells, or 4 rounds of 3 inch; and the Tac-Star extension ups this to 7 and 6 rounds respectively. Parkerized finish is a specially coated finish, invented during World War II, that is almost as impervious to moisture as stainless; plus, it is non-glare, as the photos show.
