Here is a used but attractive set of Smith & Wesson factory Magna, or Service type, grips for K or L frame revolvers with Round Butt Grip frame only. If you aren’t sure which yours is, please see the comparative photo. These grips fit any K or L round butt grip frame revolver including Models 65in round butt grip frame only, manufactured from about 1940 until the present. Model 12 owners may need a substantial amount of fitting, since many of the Model 12s have thinner-than-normal grip frames. Construction is Brazilian Goncalo Alves with nickel plated brass factory S&W logos, nickel plated factory screw and milled brass screw escutcheons. Factory inner stamp is 103000 range; given a matching K or D prefix, we estimate these grips left the factory on a 2 inch round butt Model 10 or perhaps even a 19 some time in the late 1960s. Surface detractions are minimal, principally finish scouring on the lower portions of the panels. We rate them as Very Good, close to Excellent; but photos ought to suffice for our shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. We don’t get many Magnas period, and very few of them are Round Butt like these.
