From a New England collection, comes this attractive descendant of the Remington Model 95 Derringer. This piece is the descendant of a good many manufactured in West Germany by J.P. Sauer & Sohn, with various importers in the 1960s. This one came in through Hy Hunter Firearms Manufacturing of Hollywood. Type is over and under two shot single action only derringer. Construction is steel liners, trigger, hammer, lever, and internal parts assembled into a zinc alloy / zamak pot metal frame and barrel shroud. Steel parts were manufactured by Rohm Gmbh of Sontheim, West Germany. Chambering is .22 Winchester Magnum Caliber, and capacity is 2 rounds. Barrel is 3 inch over and under 6 groove right hand 1:16 rifling. Sights are traditional barrel shroud integral partridge blade front and fixed notch rear. Trigger is .265 smooth face, with matching serrated spur hammer. Ignition is floating firing pin, with rotary sear and left side lever safety. Frame is round butt derringer type, medium frame. Weight empty is 14 ounces, with center of gravity at the trigger. Grips are FIE replacement white checkered polymer and period correct. Surface detractions on this derringer are moderate, principally contact wear to the black anodized metal finish. Note that the right grip panel has a hairline crack. We rate it as Good, perhaps Very Good, 70 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Trigger pull is 5 pounds, half the weight of its FIE competitors. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate this derringer has been fired fewer than 100 times. After all, it is not a target pistol. We’re offering the circa 1967 Hy Hunter Derringer in the photos for only $ 119.00.
