Here is a good little .25 Automatic, and one of the best that FIE Corporation ever marketed, the Titan series. Numbered model on this variant was E27C. Until 1966, this pistol’s ancestors were manufactured by Fratelli Tanfoglio S.N.C. of Gardone Val Trompa, Italy. Principal importer was Eig Cutlery of Miami, reorganized as FIE, Firearms Import and Export Corp, the direct ancestor to EAA, in December of 1966. FIE anticipated the size restrictions of the 1968 Gun Control Act and proceeded uninterrupted while small handguns like the Baby Brownings and Berettas got canned. FIE was already producing their own frames with fitted Tanfoglio parts. Type is single action only blowback action semi-automatic vest pocket pistol, with main safety only. Safety will engage with the hammer at rest or cocked. Construction is steel barrel, hammer, trigger, lever, and internal parts, with zinc alloy / zamak or pot metal frame, trigger, and magazine release. Grip panels are American hardwood. Type is hammer fired blowback semi automatic pocket pistol, with a safety lever that works reverse from the normal thumb motion on similar guns. Barrel is 2 1/4 inch with six groove right hand 1:16 rifling. Sight is barrel integral serrated ramp front with slide integral fixed notch rear. Chambering is .25 ACP Caliber, and the steel magazine holds 6 rounds, 6 + 1 fully loaded capacity. Note the European style butt mounted magazine release; note also that Tanfoglios do Not lock the slide open on an empty magazine. Trigger is .225 alloy smooth face, with matching Commander type serrated hammer. Trigger pull is 10 pound vicinity. Weight empty is 12 ounces. Finish is hard chrome metal. This pistol comes to us from a New England collection. From its D900000 range serial number, we estimate it was manufactured in the late 1970s or early 1980s. Surface detractions are moderate, principally small finish peeling beside the trigger pivot pin on the sides of the frame, with faint lateral wear on the slide and grip panels. We rate it as Very Good, 80 percent vicinity by our estimate, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright and clean. We do not believe this pistol has been fired more than 200 times. Replacement pricing on a hammer fired .25 like the Berettas ranges upwards of $400. We’re offering the Italian American Titan .25 in the photos, however, for only $ 149.00.
