Date Code on this Remington 7600 pump action, heir to the Game Master 760, is AJ, manufactured March of 1989, the Senior Bush's third month in office. This rifle comes to us from its exclusive local retail owner, one of our hard-working retirees from Jacks Creek, Tennessee, who bought it new from us that year. This rifle has seen only moderate use, and its surface detractions are minimal. Apart from two faint operation streaks on the bottom of the pump guide tube, there is moderate scouring and pecking on the bottom side of the forend, and two tiny, less visible scours on the bottom side of the buttstock near the buttplate.MOriginal metal finish is strong throughout. We estimate that less than 10 percent of the total surface area is affected by the detractions we mentioned above, so we rate this 7600 .270 as Excellent. Barrel length, of course, is standard 22 inches, and magazine is the original 4 shot blue steel. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Metal is classic Remington bright blue with satin finish American Walnut stock and forend. This is a very attractive, eminently serviceable 7600. Replacement price on this rifle in our area is $700 or more, and we prefer this one to a new one. We're offering it for only $ 439.95
