Description: Halfway between Austin and San Antonio sits the Comal County Courthouse and Sheriff's Department. This is one of Sheriff Holder's Deputy's service pistols that has been immaculately preserved. It still has its trade-in tag from Smith & Wesson. From its VKH serial number prefix, it was one of the last 4586 pistols made, in 1998 or 1999. Its only surface detractions are very faint holster contact buffing to small areas of the upper slide shoulders and left side of the slide. There are two or three small buff spots on the lower side of the frame. The only other surface detractions are moderate slide contact buffing to the exterior barrel surfaces. Hogue grips are evidently this pistol's service grips, and they exhibit only moderate scuffing on their right panel's backstrap area, and on the lower left panel. We rate this 4586 as Excellent, since 90 percent or more of its original finish is intact by our estimate. Photos, however, should suffice for prospective owners to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. Carbon residue on the yellow magazine followers is only moderate. We estimate this pistol has been fired fewer than 500 rounds in its career of protecting our fellow Americans in South Texas. The 4586 and similar 10mm siblings were produced in the 1980s and 1990s to meet growing demand for a powerful yet manageable law enforcement sidearm. The full time double action allowed easy transition from revolvers to automatics, and the design and quality are still unsurpassed. Every shot is a long smooth double action pull, just like a fine double action revolver. A manual decocking safety lever is not necessary on this pistol, because the hammer does not stand to single action. Due to the firing pin safety, the pistol cannot fire unless the trigger is deliberately pulled all the way on a live round. For further security, Smith & Wesson metal frame autos like this one have always had a magazine safety as well. Barrel length is Commander size 4 1/4 inch; capacity is 8 + 1 rounds of .45 ACP; construction is satin stainless steel with anodized 3 dot Novak sights, hammer, and trigger. Weight empty is 39 ounces; hammer measures .260 and is semi-bobbed; trigger is .304 smooth combat type. The last retail price on these over 10 years ago was $774.00. We're offering the 4586 in the photo, however, in a current production factory box with cable lock and extra magazine for only $ 489.95. Not transferable to civilians in California, Chicago, Massachusetts, or NYC.

Don't let your buddies use your account. Registered user must be the buyer, with his or her own money. Buying firearms and related items for other people can result in felony charges. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
