Serial number on this Colt Targetsman 6 inch blue auto is 1881xx-C, dating it to President Nixon's Election Year of 1968. It is in Excellent Condition. Its principal finish detraction is dullness to its original walnut grips, and some finish scouring on the upper and lower edges of the right grip panel, and faint contact wear to the edge of the thumb rest on the left panel. Bluing is almost totally intact. Lateral edges of the muzzle and top area of the front sight show faint holster contact whitening. There is some very minimal whitening on the sharp right forward edge of the frame and on the right forward edge of the trigger guard. We rate this Targetsman at 90 percent or better finishwise; the photos, however, should enable interested parties to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent. The Targetsman is classified by BATF as a Curio and Relic, so this fine pistol is one that Licensed C&R collectors or even eligible California residents can own.
