This is a Remington Rolling Block made around 1880. It is in 11.15x60R (43) Mauser (.446 caliber). The metal is in very good condition with an exceptional, almost mirror bright bore and sharp lands and grooves. It has a 35" barrel and is musket configuration with cleaning rod, and military type ladder sight. The fore end is cracked and missing a splinter at the forward cap, and the butt stock is split both directions from the sling swivel, but appears solid. Marks include, under butt stock on left side upper tang "F61166", lower tang "G21553", crown proofs on all bands; an unknown proof on either side of barrel at breech; "R" on barrel top at receiver; "E" under rear sling swivel; dime sized cartouche on right butt with three lines "1883" over possibly script initials over "1883". Below this mark is the number "30238". That's about all I can tell you. We can take VISA or MasterCard for an additional 2% fee.
