Description: Fox BE Grade 12ga.- LOTS OF CONDITION, 7LBS., GREAT DIMENSIONS

Finding an A.H. Fox double with lots of FACTORY FINISH is becoming increasingly difficult. Most have been used for almost 100 years and have little finish remaining, making them targets for restoration to look good and to maintain the gun’s protective finishes. This fine BE Grade, sn19353, circa 1912, has lots of factory case color, wood finish, and barrel blue remaining along with excellent mechanics and shooting dimensions. Additionally, the B Grade was a short production run, being discontinued in 1918. So we have all of the components of a great investment quality shotgun; low production numbers, high factory condition, modern shooting dimensions, excellent mechanics, all in a dynamic handling 7lb. package that is a pleasure to look at. THIS IS THE KIND OF SHOTGUN THAT ONLY GOES UP IN VALUE OVER TIME. Just take good care of her as you enjoy shooting your new Fox.

The #3 weight, 28” Krupp barrels retain 98% original blue, mirror bores, IC/LM (.010/.016, can be altered to your specs for $65 each), internal bore diameter .722 right, .724 left, minimum barrel wall thickness 38 thousandths right, 40 thousandths left, minor handling marks outer, clear lettering and engraving, 2 ¾” chambers, ribs tight and barrels ring true, no dents, pits, or major marks, ivory bead, ejectors, barrels tight on breech face, a great set of barrels with another century of life in them.

The receiver retains 85% factory case color, fine English style scroll engraving with game scenes, excellent screws, double triggers with excellent pulls, well timed ejectors, action tight with lever right of center, just a gorgeous example of early Fox workmanship.

The wood has some figure, what looks like about 95% original wood finish, excellent checkering, ½ round pistol grip with splinter forend, LOP of 14 1/8 to original butt plate, 2 ½ “ drop at heel, 1 ½” drop at comb, neutral cast, no splits, cracks, or repairs, excellent checkering, superb wood to metal fit, everything in excellent order. We do stock bending to your specs and install vintage pads if you need longer LOP. Just let us know your needs.

Can you visualize where this 99 year old gun has been, who it has served over the decades of its use? My guess is there were not many owners as it has been maintained with the utmost care. As 12ga. guns go it is light at 7 lbs. and balances superbly at ¼” ahead of the hinge pin. The chokes are about perfect for sporting clays games and upland hunting. And just think, YOU ARE NOT SPENDING A PENNY WHEN YOU BUY THIS GUN! You are simply moving funds from one part of your estate to another type of investment. The Fox will appreciate as you enjoy its use. I will even buy it back after 1 year for the same amount you paid for it, guaranteed! I know it will be worth more then, as excellent original guns are becoming difficult to find. It will only get tougher in the future.

There are more photos available upon request. There is a 30 day mechanical warranty included with this gun. PLEASE SEE MY OTHER VINTAGE FIREARMS ON THIS SITE. Thanks for looking, and hope to see you at the Tulsa Gun Show the first weekend of April!
