I never babied this gun in the blind, and it stood up pretty well (email me for more photos) What I did do, and do it religiously, was to take it apart after EVERY hunt (I hunt the salt flats of western Washington) and scrub it down. And then oil it up again. Right down to the trigger springs and lockplates. It was a lot of work, and most guys would say it was overkill, but I never had a misfire but one, and that was my fault for not noticing I'd dinged the left nipple and the cap wasn't securely on. So I came up empty on a sluice shot but my buddy's lab got him anyhow I'm selling a ton of extras with this piece because I'm getting out of the blackpowder game altogether. Two shotflasks with Irish valves and a spare English valve, all interchangeable, a Thompson Centre Lexan powder flask (you can see how much you got left), ALL the wads and cards for two full seasons of shooting (easily... probably more with all the variation you can imagine) plastic shotcups for steel and tungsten. Lots of shot if you want to pay me to ship it (8 lbs each of nickel plated 1s and 4s which I used for patterning to save money on Bismuth, 20 lbs each of magnum 6s and 7 1/2s) two powder measure, two cappers, two spare ramrods (including my favorite field rod which is really nothing but a piece of an old ski pole that just fits the bore... light, stiff and you can load thru it when you're in a hurry; I should patent it...) All the cleaning and maintenance stuff you'll ever need.
