Case & Sons pattern number on this specimen is 71009, a bit larger than the original toothpick with its blade measuring 4 1/2 inches from heel to point, and overall length of 5 inches closed. Blade is original factory bright stainless, and the tang is marked with three X characters, so this knife was manufactured in 2007 specially for Ducks Unlimited fundraising. Handle panels are appropriately treated walnut, similar to the Special Purpose shotguns popular among duck hunters. Liners and panel rivets are solid brass, with the DU logo on the obverse handle panel. Bolsters are nickel steel. This is a distinctive specimen of the 71009 Toothpick, and it comes to us from a local West Tennessee collection. We rate it as Mint or Near Mint, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is excellent mechanically, in terms of backspring strength.
