This listing is for the exact shotgun in the photos. From West Tennessee National Wild Turkey Federation fundraisers in the Millennial Year comes this limited edition Browning BPS Shotgun. Manufacturer was Miroku Corporation of Nankoku Japan; Importer and warrantor is Browning Arms of Morgan, Utah. Year of Production was 2000, attest the box label and the MM date code on the shotgun itself. Chambering is 12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch and 3 inch shells interchangeably. Construction is steel metal parts with the exception of the anodized alloy trigger and housing; and American Walnut stock and forend. Steel magazine tube holds 4 rounds of 2 3/4 inch shells, or 3 rounds of 3 inch with the adapter or plug removed. Barrel is 28 inch Invector Plus®, and the choke tube is an extended, ported Invector Plus X-Full, .6995 for lead or Bismuth type shot only – NO STEEL, NO SLUGS. All Invector Plus barrels are back bored and not designed for any rifled slug, regardless of choke tube. This barrel will only accept Invector Plus or similar threads. Sight system is 8 post, .318 wide serrated top Ventilated Rib that sits .322 inch above the barrel at mid section. Front sight is Stainless Bead type, that mates with the raised rear of the High Post Vent Rib. Magazine tube is 11 1/2 inch steel, holds 4 rounds of 2 3/4 inch 12 gauge, or 3 rounds of 3 inch 12 gauge shells. This shotgun will NOT chamber or cycle 3 1/2 inch shells. Removable two shot adapter is in place. Trigger is .355 alloy smooth faced. Release lever is beside the trigger guard. Loading and ejection are through the receiver bottom, since the BPS is a descendant of John M. Browning's model of 1915, the Remington 17 and the Ithaca 37. Safety is top tang, ambidextrous. The buttstock, however, is not ambidextrous. Drop is 1 1/2 inches at the comb, by 2 inches at the rear, but with a full 1 inch right hand cast. Length of pull is 14 1/4 inches to the end of the 1 inch black factory recoil pad. Overall length is 49 1/8 inches with the extended tube in place. Weight empty is 8 pounds, centered at the breech face. Finish is polished surface blued, with machine engraving and gold lettering on the receiver laterals over the blue. Trigger is gold plated. Forend is fluted semi-beavertail with machine cut checkered laterals and lower; and the buttstock is field type with cut checkereed laterals on its pistol grip. Stock finish is gloss type, similar to the Medallion series current production Brownings. Surface detractions are minimal to negligible, only faint occasional finish freckling that is not readily conspicuous. We rate it as Excellent and Unfired in Box, perhaps near Mint, but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. This Browning comes in its original box with foam liners, instruction manual, NRA Membership offer, trigger lock and keys, and a never executed factory registration card.
