Smaller upper section anchors to any standard size 12 gauge barrel, and the bottom section is slightly larger to accommodate even a polymer tube. When a magazine tube extension sticks out 8-9 inches or more from the barrel lug, there is a danger of hitting the extension and damaging the main magazine tube itself or its threads.
