These grips are well worn, as the photos show. They are, however, historically significant. They came to us on a Sig P226 Pistol issued to the Swiss State Police in the Canton Vaud, Southwest Switzerland, with the Police Shield Shield on its slide. The parent pistol bore a German Date code of JF, manufactured in 1985. By our poor memory from selling a good many Pachmayr grips, 1985 was the first or possibly second marketing year for the 226 Grips, as well as the first year that Pachmayr installed its Lion Logo shield on its grips. As far as condition, this set of Pachmayr Signature 226 grips show stretch marking on the edges of their front strap cover, scouring on the lower edge of the left panel, and smooth contact buffing on the lower right panel and back strap cover. We classify them as only Good, 60 percent vicinity by our estimate. Photos, at any rate, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. If a person only wants a set of good grips for shooting, he or she will probably be better served with one of the Hogue Grips. We are advertising these simply because they are collectable.
