This is an early 2nd model Winchester 1890 in .22WRF. It has the mortised bolt and a 24 3/8" long octagon barrel. It was originally a cased colored receiver, but there is virtually no finish remaining. The serial number, 27236, shows manufacture was about 1893. The stocks are original and in very good shape, as are the sights. The bore is a little rough, but shootable, and it is in fine condition mechanically. Part of the rear firing pin stop screw is broken off, but does not interfere with action. Otherwise, this is a complete, original early 2nd Model 1890 antique.
