Not since Winchester / US Repeating Arms closed its doors in early 2006 has there been anything like this on the market. Photos show one of Rossi Braztech’s new M830, named model Rio Grande Lever Action Shotgun. Although the history goes all the way back to the Winchester Model of 1883, this Rossi is more heavily indebted to John Marlin than to Oliver Winchester. It will, in fact, accept any scope mount that fits a Marlin 336, 1894, 444, or 1895. The four mounting holes, the cross-receiver hammer safety, and the 1 inch recoil pad are the only 20th century trappings to this rifle. Manufacturer is Amadeo Rossi S.A. of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Importer and service warrantor is Braztech of Miami. Both firms are Taurus affiliates. Styling is traditional repeating or lever action rifle type, only chambered for .410 gauge, 2 1/2 inch, shotshells. Construction is blue steel, and the barrel measures 20 inches, gently rifled for accurate use of slugs, but not enough pronounced rifling to interfere with Shotshells or even buckshot. Company does not advise whether .45 Colt Ammunition is at all feasible; probably not. Capacity is 5 + 1 rounds of .410 gauge, 2 1/2 inch shells; this shotgun is not 3 inch capable. Sights are traditional buckhorn type with step elevator dovetailed-in rear and dovetailed blade front with brass tip. Weight empty is 5.8 pounds, balanced just forward of the lever mount strut on the receiver. Overall length is 38.9 inches, and length of pull is a very adult 13 7/8 inches from the face of the blue steel trigger to the end of the buttpad. Buttstock and forend are traditional walnut-finished Brazilian hardwood. This specimen comes in a factory box marked, Factory Reconditioned. It carries, writes the label, the Exclusive Braztech Functional Repair Policy, but not on its finish. That simply means that, if it malfunctions, Braztech will repair it, but no freebie refinish. This is what we call a demo gun, probably a sales rep’s sample or a showgirl at trade shows like the annual SHOT Show in Las Vegas. Surface detractions are minimal, principally a half dozen tiny pecks on the pistol grip area of the stock, as the photos show. Apart from that, it has really no more than shelf wear that one sees on brand new display specimens in gun shops. We rate this Rossi Rio Grande .410 as Excellent, 95 percent vicinity by our estimate; but photos ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. Bore, chamber, and mechanism are all bright, clean, and excellent; and we do not believe this shotgun was ever fired. This Rossi is in its factory box just like it recently left the Miami warehouse, with its manual and keys for its internal lock. One sees Winchester 9410 shotguns advertised at prices approaching $1500 per unit. We’re offering the Rossi M830 Rio Grande in the photos, however, for only $ 439.00. 2% Discount if payment is by USPS Money Order & Not Credit Card. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> $20 flat fee lower 48 states; $60 Alaska, Hawaii or Puerto Rico, UPS Ground or USPS Priority with full insurance coverage. Don't try, either, to circumvent any law; for example, a California civilian may not buy a high capacity magazine and have it shipped to his brother-in-law in Nevada. That is a felony.
GA Pay buyers are NOT charged until we confirm we have the item and are ready to ship it. The same thing is true for phone-in, fax-in, and mail-in payments. In this respect, and in several others, Guns America outshines all its competitors. This is the best firearms website there is, hands down.
