This is an excellent example of a late Production model 1930 commercial Broomhandle Mauser pistol. These pistols have the reinforced chamber area and high polished finish. The top of the chamber area is marked "WAFFENFABRIK / MAUSER / OBERNDORF A/N" and on the left side it is marked with a single Crown/U proofmark with an additional Crown / U proof is marked on top of the rear section of the breech bolt. The right side rear frame is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER / OBERNDORF A. NECKAR / D.R.P.U.A.P." with the Mauser Banner logo on the left. It has the standard inverted "V" fixed front sight and adjustable rear sight graduated from 50-1000 meters. The late style walnut grips with 12 grooves on each side with a lanyard loop and ring on the bottom of the butt. This particular pistol was made circa 1935.
CONDITION: All matching. No importer marks. Excellent overall with 96% of the original blued finish with wear on the edges and high spots overall with a few minor handling marks. The original grips are in excellent condition with only minor handling marks in a couple of places. The original 1930 "banner" stamped walnut stock/holster is in very good shape. There are two minor stress cracks one near the release button about 0.5" long, another one around 1" long on the ridge. One screw on the hinge is missing.
