Description:
HRA M1 Garand serial number 55118xx, made around 1954. HRA 8-54 barrel with a bright bore. All marked parts are HRA, all are described below and shown in photos. Stock is also HRA with stars & eagle, in beautiful condition. No import marks.
This M1 is in excellent-plus used condition. From the condition of the bolt face, op rod, lower rear barrel section, and minimal finish wear in general, it is obvious that this rifle has been fired very little, and has rarely even been hand-cycled. We did test fire the gun and it worked perfectly, cycling through a clip and ejecting it at the end.
The gun has been disassembled, cleaned, and lubricated. Parts were clean for photos, coated with oil and greased where appropriate when reassembled.

· Receiver: marked “6528291” on leg, heat lot “L”. Excellent condition, absolutely no pitting, no scratches or gouges, very slightly worn finish at some corners.
· Barrel: marked “HRA 6353448 8-54 RS39” in op rod slot, with “P” and punch mark, “M”, and small stars and eagle. Chrome pads at gas port. Bore is bright, rifling and crown excellent, chamber in the white. External finish is in excellent good condition, no pitting.
· Lower band: two piece flat top with roll pin
· Barrel Gauge Measurements: MW(muzzle wear): 1, TE(throat erosion): 2
· Clip latch: square front type, unmarked
· Op rod: marked “6535382 HRA”, excellent condition, slight finish wear on handle tip, no pitting.
· Op rod catch: HRA/SA/IHC type, unmarked
· Bullet guide: stamped with notch, unmarked
· Follower: late type, unmarked
· Follower arm: no bevel, unmarked
· Follower rod: long fork, riveted, unmarked
· Bolt: marked “658287 HRA .U.”
· Firing pin: half round, no chrome tip, unmarked
· Elevation knob: marked “HRA”
· Windage knob: marked “HRA-W”
· Rear sight base: late SA/HRA type, unmarked
· Rear sight aperture: SA/HRA type, double track
· Trigger housing: marked “6528290-HRA N”. Small pad, cloverleaf hole, no pitting, near perfect condition
· Trigger guard: stamped with stamped hook
· Trigger: late type, no extra hole
· Hammer: marked “HRA 5546008”
· Hammer spring plunger: postwar type, no wings
· Safety: round top, marked “HRA”
· Gas cylinder: wide sight platform, flat on top of rear ring. Gas cylinder group finish is excellent.
· Front sight: 0.75 wide, unmarked
· Gas cylinder lock: postwar high hump type, unmarked
· Gas cylinder lock screw: cross slot poppet valve type, marked “HRA” and “O”
· Stock: walnut, clearly HRA from thickness at pistol grip and the “horseshoe”. Circled “P” on pistol grip, 1/2” stars and eagle (DAS) on left side, both markings among the best we have ever seen. No cracks, has dings from handling, none severe, very nice appearance.
· Buttplate: round plunger type, exc condition with finish wear
· Stock ferrule: with hole
· Handguards: walnut, same condition as stock
· Sling: postwar, used, common web type
Two M1 enbloc clips (no ammo), sling and canvas bandolier are included.
