Named Model on this Colt R-6601DH rifle is simply, Match HBAR. Manufacture marking is Colt’s Mfg. Co. Inc. / Hartford, Conn. / --U.S.A.-- From its MH086100 serial number, it was manufactured in September of 1994 and issued to the California Highway Patrol. Colt number MH086020, of course, was the last pre-ban AR type rifle, produced on September 12, 1994, the day before the Federal Ban kicked in. This rifle has a 20 inch heavy barrel with is 1:7 rate of twist Chrome bore and so marked, and this rifle will perform with exceptional accuracy with any bullet weight. The compensator, of course, works in combination with the heavy barrel to reduce muzzle rise and increase accuracy even more. Barrel marking is on the top, C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7 HBAR. Upper has C / MB marking on the right side of the sight-handle forward of the rear sight. Sight system, of course, is windage adjustable dual aperture rear with elevation adjustable post front. Stock is factory Colt conventional A2 type, with traditional round forend. Surface detractions on this rifle are only moderate, principally edge whitening on its metal. Magazine is recent production, unissued Colt Factory 30 round. We rate this HBAR as Very Good, 85 percent vicinity; photos, however, ought to suffice for our distinguished shoppers to judge finish grade for themselves. It is well maintained; bore, chamber, gas tube and mechanism are all bright and clean. We estimate it has been fired fewer than 1500 rounds with standard factory ammunition. Replacement price on this fine rifle, if a person can even find one, is upwards of $2,000 in our area.
