Retaining 10% to 15% of finish. Matching S/N on Barrel, Cylinder, Frame, Trigger Guard, and (3) inside of Trigger Plate. Matching S/N's on virtually everything. Proof marks on frame & barrel. Manufactured in 1874 by d'Mrmes de Saint-Etienne Armory in France, which continues, to this day, to produce fine sporting arms. Caliber: 11 x 17.7R. 11 gram bullet. Case length: 17.8mm. Cartridge: 6 shots, Center Fire. BLACK POWDER ONLY. Fine scratch marks on left side of frame above grip. Checkered walnut grips showing some wear. Side ejection. Action strong, with fully functioning spring pressure adjustment. Everything functions in half, full cock, single and double action. Internal parts were finely machined and finished. The trigger, hammer, and several of the internal springs were straw finished which was a type of case-hardening hot oil finish. Can be stripped without any external tools. It has a screwdriver attached to the cylinder pin - the latter being released by pressing the large spring loaded screw head in front of the cylinder; two screws and the whole thing is opened wide. Cartridges can be charged with casings of 44 magnum re-cut to 18mm and whose collet was refined. 0.7 to 0.8 grams of Swiss Black Powder #2 and a round ball in .451. Loaded cartridges are produced in France. Cylinder has a side loading gate which is pulled straight to the rear. Barrel: Excellent bore with strong and shiny riffling. 4 1/2" - 114mm. Complete with lanyard ring. Holster: Original brown leather in excellent shape with all stitching strong and continuous. Front strap and stud are both firmly attached. Classified as an antique, and as a black powder.
