This one-of-a-kind Varmint Rifle is built on a second model Ranger Arms Action mfg by the late Joe DuBiel. The jeweled bolt only travels 46* to open. The action is mated to a Douglas Premium barrel by the late Gene Lechner. The stock is beautiful Turkish Walnut by Fajen. The scope is an original Weaver V12 4-12x38 AO sitting in Conetrol rings and mounts. The only defects in this unique rifle are a few mars to the stock (nothing major) and 1 spot of bluing loss on the barrel from a gun case. The rifle includes RCBS dies, 80-90 cartridges, some loaded with 80gr sisk bullets, the balance just fireformed, approximately 500 sisk 80gr bullets, 100 Hornady bullets to use for fireforming additional brass should you chose to do so, and a hard case. Depending on the reloads you choose you should be able to get these 80gr bullets to approximately 4000ft/sec. There have only been 90-120 rounds down the barrel of this quality firearm. 85 were to fireform the cartridges, so were lower power. The balance for some load development, scope sight in, and a couple of hunting trips. Three shots, three kills. The cartridge is based on the original Remington 244 which has since been renamed by to 6mm Remington. The base case simply has the neck reduced to hold the .2268 bullet by the reloading die, and is then fireformed to create the improved case shoulder. The barrel is a 1-9 twist.
